My girlfriend and I went to this seasons opening of the Chew reservoir (one of the big English Trout Reservoirs) Pike fishing trials this last Saturday and we ended up with something I without a doubt would describe as a Red Letter Day.
Fishing was not great during the morning session for anybody, but at least I managed to winkle out 4 Jack Pike to around 3.8kg.
Then just after lunch time my girlfriend catches a 1250 gram Perch, upon which we decided to target the Perch specifically for the reminder of the day. I did not exactly have the typical Perch lure fishing gear with me, but used one of my 5" Fox Chubby Shad jigs off which I always carry a good selection, as they have caught me a lot of fish over the last year or so.
I am very, very pleased to say I ended up with a total of 10 Perch (11 including my girlfriends), one "tiddler" weighing 975 grams, seven between 1150 & 1300 grams in addition to three Perch between 1500 & 1530 grams

All in all a fantastic day out :-) :-)
