Action program I demand, – Close off salmon farms so they are separated from nature, to prevent escapes, lice, spreading of disease and other environmental impacts. – Stop all sea fishing on wild salmon, only allowing a controlled and quoted sport fishing in rivers. – Protect salmon nursery habitats in rivers and streams from hydropower and other exploitation. – Preserve liming in acid-sensitive west coast rivers.
This is how you can contribute – Boycott sea farmed salmon. Talk to your local dealer and your friends about the impact on the environment. – Support ECO certificated products within the aquaculture industry. Demand that your local dealer sells ECO-certified salmon. – Catch & Release caught wild salmon in vulnerable populations and support limitations in fishing. – Support organizations that protect wild salmon conservation, such as NJFF (Norwegian Jeger-og Federal Fisheries), Anglers and North Atlantic Salmon Fund. – Write to the Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and demand that the Norwegian salmon farming industry stop their extermination of the wild salmon.

I am concerned about the Norwegian wild salmonI am writing to you because of the anxiety I feel for the Norwegian wild salmon population. Over the past 30 years, populations of wild Atlantic salmon in Norway has decreased by 80% according to official figures that environmental governance in Norway reports. It is a very serious situation that I’m asking you as Prime Minister to take very seriously.
The reasons for the decline are complex, I can mention acidification, salmon parasite Gyrodactylus Salaris, genetic pollution from salmon escapes, lice, taxation on mixed stocks in salt lake, changing growth conditions in the ocean and more. The Scientific Council for salmon management states in his report “Status for Norwegian wild salmon populations in 2010
