Horngädda i Malmö

Hello everyone,

first, I want to apology for using english, but you might want to kill me for my swedish

I used to live for two years in Malmö and I loved to go fishing there. Especially when horngädda were migrating along the coast in the beginning of May.

And here comes my question - after years, I would love to come back to visit Malmö with my friend and I would love to go there at the right time when horngädda is passing by so as we can enjoy even some nice fishing experience there. Would you, guys, be so kind and advice me what is the best week to go there?

Hello, and welcome here.

I would say that the best way to know when the garfish is migrating is to look out on the different fishingshops and here on fiskesnack, and be ready to take a trip here when they are here.

Thanks a lot for answer. Well - that's the problem - we need to book a date in advance - we have to book our vacation and book fly tickets in advance..

I don't know about what specific week that would be the best one, and I think it will vary from year to year. But my experience is that generally May is the month for this type of fishing and if I were to book a trip I would go for the latter weeks of May or mid-May. I think the weather will be nicer and the fishing probably at least decent

Usually late april and early may. It depends on temprature in water, but thats the common time.

Down in Skåne , The best time for horngädda use to be The first week in may, but all depends on The weather, another tip is when The rapeseed flowers bloom The horngädda is here but i would say Around 1may
