vertikal jiggning

Jag läste någon artikel i någon fisketidning där skribenten puffade lite för vertikal jiggning efter gös. Jag undrar lite hur detta går till och om inte metoden skulle kunna funka på sega sommargäddor och abborrar. Kanske är det någon på forumet som har erfarenheter av denna metod.

Det funkar på abborre iaf. Är ungefär som pimpelfiske med vertikalpirk.

mm jag har testat det på vättern men ett normark mästar ulspö ett litet spö typ ismete modell fast för ulrulle. Det funkar men det är inte så kul som att kasta och jigga.... Tycker jag iaf!

jag har lite fakt om vertikal man ska ha ett väldigt kort spö och sen ska man helts ha en elmotor. Fisket bedriver man precis bakom båten och på hård botten

Vertical fishing
Since about 10 years another quite effective and interesting technique for catching zander with artificial lures has become very popular in Holland and surrounding countries: Vertical fishing! First of all you select with your depth sounder a number of key spots where you can expect zander. Then you approach these hot spots with your boat very carefully using aids like a drift sack or electro motor. The rod you use is a very light and often short, between 180 and 200 cm, spinning rod or even a special rod for this way of fishing. On the spool of the open face spinning reel you’ll find very light, thin but still strong braided line in the 4 till 6 lb range and that the end a small snap for hooking your lure on. When you can also expect pike in the water you fish, it is better to use a 20 cm leader made from 15 – 20 lb stainless steel wire like the Berkley Steelstrand or Drennan Sevenstrand.

On this snap you hang the Salmo lures which are mostly dedicated for this unique way of catching zander: the Salmo Chubby Darter and the Zipper. Which colour? Hard to say but the favourite colours of Jan Eggers for this way of fishing are: YD, HP and YMD for the Chubby Darters in 4, 5 and 6 cm and the 7,5 cm Zipper the colours LRR and GT.

You let these lures sink until they reach the bottom, with a little jerk of your rod tip you lift the plug about 25 – 30 cm and let it slowly sink again till it hits the bottom. Don’t do it too fast, just slow and nine times out of ten the zander attacks the lure when it goes down. With this method it is possible to catch zander in wintertime from depths of 15 till 20 meters and in the past this was almost impossible with other artificial lure techniques. In wintertime you also have to move your lure slower than in summer and fall. It is even possible to keep these lures without any movement of your hand and rod tip in the water and just by the little movements of the boat, caused by wind and current; they are interesting enough for the zander to grab it between its jaws. The new thin, strong dyneema line without stretch has helped a lot to develop this way of zander fishing. Now it is possible to feel the lightest bite, set the hook well at long distance and also add the fact that the current has hardly any resistance on the very thin, often 0, 10 mm, dyneema line. To play a fat zander in the deep on light tackle is also a lot of fun and try to imagine what a job it is to get a 15 kilo zander from 11 meters deep on a light line and light rod like happened in Holland this spring

Knowing that this method is not used in a lot of other European countries, I dare to say that there are a lot of interesting possibilities ahead.
