On the Savage Gear Fat Tail Spin tailspinner in the color: 'White silver' i have really liked the BKK hook, and caught alot of very good perch.
I also like to use it on 'Perch' colored hardbaits imitating red fins, baits with a bright yellow belly as a contrast to that, and funny enough on SOME very transparent colored baits as the 'Sparkling Grey' and 'Sparkling Blue' from Westin.
But i disagree on the quality of the hook itself.
The hook is very strong, and probaly stronger than Owner and Gamakatsu, which is the 2 best 'comercial' hooks in my opinion. The durability from BKK Can be very Nice in the smaller sizes from 4-8, cause unhooking pikes tend to bend the hooks in these sizes, and the sharpness of the hook isnt super important, because both pike and perch tend to GET hooked pretty easy on those small hooks.
The BKK are fairly Sharp, but in my opinion noticeable less Sharp than Gamakatsu and Owner.
Especially from 1-3/0, normal pike sizes, i tend to not use Them as much because of the lack of sharpness.
And on jigheads from 3/0-6/0 i would never even consider to use BKK to be honest.
In my eyes Gamakatsu is the sharpest hook of 'the 3', but also the most fragile and most expensive. If you change hooks often enough you wont lose any fish because they are fragile, but it Will cost you some money and time.
Owner is very close to being as Sharp as Gamakatsu, but noticeable more durable.
BKK isnt sharper than VMC, Mustad etc. in my opinion, but probaly one of the most durable hooks on the market, and the colors Can be a Nice eyecatcher (pun intended)
