    Rocky Bottoms!

    Im looking for advice on rigs for fishing on the bottom, over rocks and stones for lake?

    Ive looked in to the sea fishing side of things, where a rotten bottom is used more often than not. But I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the shape of the lead was important, is a long eco weight better than a regular bomb?

    Rod tips high as possible
    Good abrasion resistant mono

    Anything else?

      Thanks Ari! As usual a credit to fiskesnack!

      I shall check out the owner circle hooks, in fact I’ve been meaning to take a look owners other patterns for all my other fishing. I have never tried circle hooks before, so thanks for the “veva fast fisken” tips, I would have been striking away with out thinking about it!

      Blyteln & stenteln sounds like some kind of heavy duty lead core, and something defiantly worth looking in to, as in places a very short cast is all that’s needed.

      Something I had thought about using are the weights used by salmon anglers, there a long profiled weight on the end of plastic tube.

      0.60 shock leader I will indeed try.

      Off topic now! A question for Ari or any lake experts!

      One thing regarding lake, will they follow a bait that’s moving, I don’t mean live bait, but something that’s not necessarily nailed to the bottom static? I’ve thought about one or two situations were I can almost free line and fish bit or prawn with just a few SSG shot on the line and trundle the bait lightly over the bottom.

        The Owner MUTU can you only get them in the USA, or is there anywhere here in Sweden or in Europe that does them?

          Bra att tänka på kan vara att köra med ett tackel där sänket lossnar vid bottennatt så att du får upp krokarna. Laken simmar gärna omkring och plockar upp gamla tackel med bete på och sväljer då krokar och allt. Har själv fått lake med gamla tackel hängade ur munnen och vet folk som fått lakar med en hel hög tacke i sig.

          Laken kan nog gärna ta även ett bete som inte ligger helt still. Det tas ju årligen lakar på trolling samt att vi har fått ett flertal på ismete med levande bete när vi kört riktat efter gädda.

                Ett till alternativ

                I tygaffärer finns det en något som används till att tynga ner gardiner, Det är ca 3mm tjockt snöre med insydda blyhagel, vi använde dessa som sänke när vi metade sik i hamnarna på 80-talet blnd sprängsten och det funkade kanon.
                Ganska dyra sänken men å andra sidan tappar man dom sällan.
                Använder man sen tunnare tafs än huvudlinan så sparar man ännu mer på dem.
