Can you troll with jerkbaits? Sävelången)

We are going to fish for pike in Sävelången next weekend and i was wondering :
Does trolling with a jerkbait on a downrigger work? I have never heard of anyone doing it, so i am little curious.
This may sound like a stupid question to some, but i am usually sat behind a rodpod for weeks at a time and not in a boat.

Also what would be the best method for pike at this time of year?

Float trolling with live baits?
Static float fishing with livebaits from a boat?
Trolling with wobblers?
Or spin fishing?

I think a live bait rocks the shit out of jerkbaits any time of the year when it comes to catching big fish.

I would try float fishing with live bait, or maybe float trolling. It depends where in the lake the fish might be holding up.

Do you have a map of the lake?
The pike are probably where the bait is. I hade pretty nice fishing close to the spawning places a few weeks ago. But it's hard to say when I don't know what the lake looks like.

Jerkbaits like Salmo Slider and Fatso are great for trolling! Especially the Fatso.

Var och jerkade i Hammarsjön för någon månad sedan. Gäddorna bara följde efter betena utan att hugga, provade då trolla med samma beten och det gav resultat direkt.
Så att prova trolling med jerkbaits kan vara en idé om fisken är trög.
Givetvis är det en fördel om betet har något sådär gång vid trolling. Salmo slider och liknande går utmärkt att trolla som någon redan skrivit.

Put the bait in the water besides the boat and you will see its movment, then you can tell if its going or not going to work as a trollingbait.

Static or very slow floattrolling in places with much baitfish i my tip.
