1 theres no national fishing licence, most lakes has their own fishing licence for just that lake
2 yes it is
3 i think that skåne is one of the best areas for carpfishing in sweden
good luck with your swedish fishing...
Hi and welcome to your future country :)
As kebabo stated, Skåne is well filled with many carp waters. There is a club in sweden called "svenska karpklubben" (Swedish carp club) that is supposed to have loads of info on most waters here.
I think that the waters in sweden is generally far less restricted than in the UK, where it seems they have many rules in the waters.

There's a whole lot more fishing in Sweden that's great. Not far from where you'll live you have great pike and salmon/trout fishing opportunities.

1, nope.
2, depends on the owners of the lake
3. Contact the Swedish carp club, www,svenskakarpklubben.com they´ll help you.
Hi there,
Welcome to Sweden!
I think your questions where answered by the previous posts. There are "three" kinds of carp waters though, regarding availability to fish is that is.
1) Public waters, you have to buy a ticket though but they are, in most cases, inexpensive.
2) Hired Lakes that "syndicates" controls.
3) Club waters.
Svenska karpkluben, as mentioned, is one place to find information. Also try to visit www.svensktmete.se (click the Forum link) and/or ask some of the major tackle shops trading carp gear. For example sportfiskecenter.nu, sportfiskegiganten.com etc.

Thx Benni,
think i would like to try out a few of your public waters out this year and maybe catch a few unknown zoo creatures then maybe find myself a nice syndicate in a year or 2.
i have e mailed the guys from swedish carp club hopefully they cant point me in the right direction.
the forum @ www.svensktmete.se did not make a lot of sense to me it seemed to be all bunched into one more like a shoutbox.
will check out the shops as soon as i arrive

thank you Mattias
i am looking forward to the move:)
Hi Shuggy uk and welcome to Sweden !
Hope you're gonnna like Sweden and our fantastic nature. I live in Skåne, just outside Helsingborg, but work in a small town called Perstorp. There you can find some nice carpwaters. And if you visit Helsingborg you can alternate yor carpfishing with seafishing in Öresund. I think there's a fishingclub in Perstorp called Carpio. Maybe you can get som information from them if you're intrested ?
the forum @ www.svensktmete.se did not make a lot of sense to me it seemed to be all bunched into one more like a shoutbox.
Interesting reading.
After a fast look at the forum of www.svensktmete.se you got the same feeling I have.
Spend a lot of time in the local tackleshop thats my advise.
The carprecordholder in sweden needed only two years in the tackleshop before catching the new record.
